The White House released the salaries of its staffers Friday in accordance with an annual requirement that it do so. The report contained many interesting data points about White House staff.
There have been heavy critiques of the personal gain “senior advisers” Jared and Ivanka may be realizing as members of the president's inner circle. So many will be stunned to find out that the salaries drawn by the president's son-in-law and daughter are: $0.00.
The fact that the two are making no money from their positions is not necessarily new, but it took some by surprise. However, according to previous reports, Ivanka and Jared have complied fully with ethics laws, divesting from their businesses.
Under the new rules, Trump has divested her common stock, tech investments, investment funds — and they will all appear on Kushner’s 278 financial disclosure form, required by all Cabinet nominees. Bloomberg News reported on Monday afternoon that Trump and Kushner sold as much as $36.7 million in assets to comply with federal ethics rules, according to the Office of Government Ethics.
So if you see Ivanka Trump or Jared Kushner on the street, buy 'em a drink.
